Context: Part of PRINTOPOLIS, a city wide event about contemporary printmaking, this specific project was dealing with Branding, Sponsoring and Marketing.
The organizers commissioned numerous temporary interventions at different art locations in the weeks leading up to the main PRINTOPOLIS conference and event. The fact that the project itself was intended to be part of a marketing campaign for the conference lead to a playful investigation of branding mechanisms, through the blending and displacing of existing logos of cultural institutions and their sponsors.
Source material: (1) Logo of BMO Financial Group, fourth-largest bank in Canada and largest corporate sponsor of the Museum. (2) Segments of MOCCA’s own official logo.
